Over the past two weeks, I've completed several charcuterie boards. Now I am getting ready to work on several large epoxy table tops that I've poured over the last couple months. The largest of these is a 48"x84" walnut epoxy river table featuring a jet black river along the live edges of two large walnut slabs. This will be Carolyn's dining room table which we have worked on for the past several months.
This morning, we traveled to OP Hardwoods in Springfield, MO with this and three other table tops where they leveled them using their industrial wood wizard. (A very large router on a sled). After three and a half hours in the wood mill, we brought the four table tops back to our wood shop where we will sand them and fill micro cracks down to an ultra smooth finish until they are ready to receive several coats of Black Forest Monocoat Oil Finish and ceramic coating.
We received word that Carolyn's dining room table legs have shipped, so I spent the first two of many hours sanding the dining room table top with 60 grit sandpaper. I finished the day with the first round of filling micro cracks. I'm very excited to move on to the next step of giving Carolyn her dream dining room table.
